Here are some tips to start from solid bases :
Backup
InPro memorizes every updates each time you close an edit.
If you close a tab before saving any modifications, InPro always proposes you to do so, even if you quit or close the software, a saving confirmation will appear any time you do change any information.
You also may use the "Backup" function, for example before closing a period and so having the option to restore it.
1st useful settings
Let's focus on the basic and essential settings :
General
This tab could be divided in 3 zones :
- 1 . ) BIEM rates, for more information please check on the lexicon
- 2 . ) System : you can indicates here the file, where in your computer, InPro is suppose to call the sales import filters. It's also here that you tick and decide if the software must inform you about the program updates (highly recommended).
- 3 . ) Social insurances and taxes : the best is to fill yourself those information according the local rules and regulations.
Companies
In order to appear on the royalties statement, you need to create and provide the company's information (header = 1 and footer = 2) you are calculating the statements for.
It's also here that you inform InPro about the payment threshold (lexicon) according to local or foreign beneficiaries.
Dealers
Last but not least of essential setting, create and configure the dealers ( = sending you the sales reports you will import) and their attributes :
- Dealer type is a crucial information for the royalties calculation
- Dealer name = for example iTunes, Believe, Sony, IDOL, ...etc
- The filter you indicate here, will be taken by default by InPro every time you will import sales from this dealer
- The % paid is the one you are supposed to receive. He's usually 100 % except for the gross sales reports
- The Footprint column is solving the "problem" about some dealers are separating the sales reports into digital or physical even synchronization sub files. For example, you received 3 different sales reports from the same dealer : Universal (physical) + Universal (digital) + Universal (sync) then you could assign the same footprint "UNIVERSAL"
- The text you fill in "Source template" informs InPro the way it will use the source (from the dealer) column (data). Indeed, if you let " * " the text will not be changed but you could replace it with your own personalized text. For example, you received a sales report files from IDOL including sales from iTunes, you have several options :
Modèle | Résultat |
---|---|
IDOL | IDOL |
Idol (*) | Idol (iTunes) |
Idol (via *) | Idol (via iTunes) |
* | iTunes |
- ISRCisUnique = ISRC as a universal and unique code for one and only title allows InPro to match titles
- Ticking Digital box allows InPro to inform the sales as Online or Digital on the royalties statements
- If you tick the Force Stream box you are forcing all sales from a dealer to be considered as streaming sales. We are highly recommending NOT to do so /!\
- UPCisUniversal box indicates InPro that UPC and REF codes are different than the internal dealer code
